Geoffrey Ngene

Associate Professor of Finance

Geoffrey NgeneDr. Geoffrey M. Ngene is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Stetson School of Business and Economics. He received his Bachelor of Commerce and MBA, both in Finance, from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, and his M.S and Ph.D. in Financial Economics from the University of New Orleans. Dr. Ngene is a Financial Economist with consulting, research and teaching experiences in finance and data mining. He has consulted for the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) as well as numerous private organizations outside USA. Dr. Ngene is a reviewer of several finance journals and has published in leading peer reviewed academic journals in finance such as Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Emerging markets Review, Journal of Housing Research, Review of Financial Economics, Economic Systems, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, African Development Review, among others.

Dr. Ngene teaches Corporate Finance, Fixed Income Securities, Mergers and Acquisitions, Integrated Case Studies in Finance, Market Analysis and Portfolio Management as well as Principles of Finance in the undergraduate program and Corporate Financial Management in the MBA program. Dr. Ngene won the Distinguished Faculty Award during the 2013-14 academic year and Teacher of the Year Award during the 2015/2016 academic year for excellence in teaching. He has also been a finalist for two university-wide teaching and advising excellence awards.

Dr. Ngene is the faculty advisor of the FMA Chapter-Mercer University, which won the Superior Chapter Award in 2014-2015 academic year. He has also been a faculty mentor for the CFA Research Challenge team.
