About the CSEL

The mission of the Center for the Study of Economics and Liberty (CSEL) is to promote the development of scholarship and economic education rooted on the values of individual liberty, economic freedom and principled entrepreneurship.

Established in August of 2019, the CSEL aims at engaging with faculty and students at Mercer University, K-12 teachers in the state of Georgia, and the public in general by facilitating academic dialogue and research on the following topics:

  • The economic and moral foundations of individual liberty
  • The determinants and benefits of economic freedom
  • The relationship between individual liberty, economic freedom, principled entrepreneurship and human progress
